Alice in Wonderland (the movie) in set to be released in the UK on the 5th March 2010. alice_in_wonderland_ver6There are so many Alice in Wonderland merchandise flying around but the one which seems to have arrested the beauty industry is the breathtaking collaboration by Urban Decay® and Disney® known as the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows.

The palette opens up to reveal a pop up scene from the movie in front of a large mirror, with a few Alice signatory items such as mushrooms, ‘drink me’ bottle etc. In true Alice in Wonderland style, there is a hidden drawer containing the goodies.

It contains 16 x 0.8g eye-shadows, 1 x 3.7ml primer potion and 2 eye pencils. All the eye shadows are fom previous collections of Urban decay but they have been given ‘Alicey’ names to fit with the theme.

This palette is the definition of limited edition. It is so limited that the entire UK blogging community only received one sample of it, sent to the amazing Charlotte of lipglossiping. You can view her beautiful images and swatches of the collection here.

It was released in the states January 15th 2010 ($52.00) and it has already completely sold out on urbandecay.com, sephora.com, ulta.com and macys.com. It is only now available in stores that still have some left, and on ebay where you should be prepared to cough up at least £60 ($102). There is such a huge rave for this palette, I can’t even imagine what will happen in the UK when it launches on the 22nd of February on Debenhams.com. This product will be a Debenhams exclusive and will launch in stores on the 28th of February. There are apparently only 2000 palettes available in the UK (info from the british beauty blogger) and each will hopefully retail at £28.00 (although I would say allow up to £35.00 to be on the safe side).

I’m not sure I can emphasize how quickly these palettes will go and my advice would be to get your hands on one ASAP, unless of course you hate Alice in Wonderland or Urban Decay, or you think us beauty addicts are crazy people!

Stay beautiful…

  1. Alice’s journey starts at the common place of social inadequacy and keeps the track of the character that finds itself in the way of its own faith and finally accepts it. Nothing new.

  2. Is it really? Please don’t make me cancel my £10.50 3D ticket reservation for Friday…
